God’s Very Good Idea by Trilia Newbell

trillia-newbell-gods-very-good-idea-250x300When a book gets an award it means that the work has received the highest honors from a specific organization.  Some of these organizations are not held in that high esteem.  Yet when organizations of great prestige extend an award then that work is truly something special.  God’s Very Good Idea written by Trillia Newbell and Illustrated by Catalina Echeverri, produced by The Good Book Company, attained the award for Best Children’s book of 2017 by the Gospel Coalition.

This book teaches children (and adults too) about how God created mankind.  He created them male and female, but he also created us different.  God created a rainbow of skin colors, making each and everyone of us look different.  Some may have a light skin tone some a darker one.  Regardless of what type of skin tone God has given you, one thing is the same, each and every person was created by God, and each and every person needs to hear the Gospel, no matter their nationality, no matter their gender, no matter their skin tone.  It was God who made us this way and this book helps exposite scripture in such a way children and understand who created them, how he created them different and yet the same everyone is equal.

This work not only has a Christ-Centic message but is also beautifully illustrated, any child no matter the age will be drawn into the story by the illustrations, and keep them captivated.  This work truly is wonderful and as the award it was bestowed truly is the best children’s book of 2017.

This book was provided to me free of charge from The Good Book Company in exchange for an unbiased, honest review.
